1906

A letter from Helen Beetle advises that she and Ralph had two daughters and a son. The older girl, Barbara, is a graduate of Wheaton College and Simmons School of Library Science. She is married to Edward G. Brown '34, Professor of Civil Engineering at Thayer School. Alan graduated from Dartmouth in the class of '36 and did graduate work at Harvard, Wyoming and the University of California where he received his Ph.D. He is teaching and doing research work at the University of Wyoming. Mary Helen graduated from Wheaton College in 1941. She is married to Dr. R. F. Wilson, a pediatrician, and they live in Dover, N. H.

Barbara's daughter graduated from Wellesley College in 1962. Her son, Robert, is a junior at Princeton and is on the Dean's list. Is doing graduate work in Mathametics and Physics and hopes to get his doctorate at Princeton the same as his father did. Helen has five other grandchildren, four of whom are boys and she hopes they will go to Dartmouth.

Art Chapin represented the Class at the funeral services of John Burtch.

The Class will be sorry to hear that the wife of William Twiss died on December 23, 1963. Some of you may recall that she was a member of the Rollins family, donors of Rollins Chapel.

One of the treasured memories that Eleanor and I have of our vacation in Southern California this past winter is the happy hours we spent with Lila and Bill Knibbs, Dartmouth 1934. Bill's father was one of the outstanding football players in our day and at the games we used to sing the song written in his honor, "Open Up a Hole and Let Billy Knibbs through, Fifteen yards or more he'll do, etc.'

Received a letter from Miguel Molina in which he said that he was sending a rare book to the Dartmouth Library in memory of his father.

I was hoping to visit King Benton, Ralph Glaze, Hamp Howe, Charlie Luck and Cap Pierce' while in California but unfortunately could not.

Please do not forget that this is the year in which every 1906 member is going to contribute to the Alumni Fund.
