Wednesday evening, March 4, 1964 was the annual meeting of the Dartmouth Association of the Great Divide. John Meek '33, vice-president and treasurer of Dartmouth College, was the honored guest. The meeting was preceded by a social hour held in the foyer of the Denver Country Club. Good spirits predominated and many friendly groups could be heard discussing affairs of the day. Bob Wood berry '54, our President, and his wife Marlinda and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rickenbaugh '28 were escorting Mr. Meek and his lovely wife. Dr. Bill Condon'29 and his wife were chatting with Bill Berg'45 and his wife, Nancy. After a friendly hour of conversation the group moved to the dining room where an excellent dinner of roast beef was served.
During the course of the meal one interesting bit of information came to notice which had not been previously called to the attention of this correspondent, namely, that Dr. Don Cunningham '13 was the honored speaker at the 50th Reunion of his class last summer. This is indeed an honor and well deserved.
After the dessert of green (Dartmouth green) ice cream and cake, Bob Woodberry '54, President and Toastmaster, presented the guests at the head table, and made a few timely announcements, one of which concerned the March good will tour of the Rugby Team.
A report of the nominating committee for this year was given by Don McKlnlay '37, chairman of this committee. The report of the nominating committee was adopted unanimously and the following are the new officers: Robert L. Woodberry '54, president (Re-election); Dr. William S. Curtis '54, vice-president; Thomas C. Seawell '59, secretary; Harry T. Lewis Jr. '55, treasurer (Reelection); William E. Murane '54, assistant secretary; Thomas C. Fead '56, assistant treasurer. We are looking forward to another successful year under the guidance of our competent officers.
Anson Mark '53 announced the Dartmouth Cup Ski Race, and noted that it would he held on April 5, 1964. As usual this race is well attended by private and public high school participants of this area, and is a highlight of the Spring Skiing Season.
John Meek was then introduced by Bob, and delivered a fine address on the subject of "Constancy Versus Change at Dartmouth College." For those of us who have not been on campus recently it certainly was a well chosen subject, and brought us up to date on the current activities taking place in Hanover. As he pointed out, there is much of the old and nostalgic as well as the new and vigorous.
