Looking Westward from the city today one sees the first heavy snow of the season blanketing the front range. In recent years snow in the Colorado Rockies has come to mean as much to the economics of this state as gold beneath the mountains did in the 1800's. It, therefore, was quite appropriate for last Friday's monthly Dartmouth meeting to feature as the guest speaker, Mr. Warren Roper, Sales Agent for United Air Lines, who showed the new movie entitled "Ski Country U.S.A." This is a magnificent color production of skiing in the State of Colorado. Many of the participants in this film are former Dartmouth men such as Tommy Corcoran '54 who now resides in Aspen. Roger Brown '57 filmed the movie. Thus, it is evident as usual, wherever good skiing is present, there also will be found men of Dartmouth. Jack Patton '53, Program Chairman for this year, has been very successful in choosing interesting luncheon speakers with topics of timely importance.
Bob Woodberry '54, our President, was in Hanover last month for the Alumni Association Officers Meeting, and while there saw many former friends, and had a chance to talk to our recent secretary and member, Dr. Seymour Wheelock '40. Dr. Jim Mc-Cliatock '45 is at the present time in New York City pursuing some special postgraduate studies in cancer radiation therapy. He hopes to attend some of the Dartmouth football games, and possibly get up to Hanover while back in those parts.
Dr. Bill Condon '29 finds himself more than busy these days attending to his busy surgical practice, and as President of the Denver Medical Society, fulfilling the role of diplomat and parliamentarian as well.
Interviewing and Enrollment Committees of this area are beginning to bestir themselves and we hope will come up with as good results this year as last. Apparently there are many good prospects, and with Christmas not far away the annual luncheon for members and prospective students is being anticipated and plans formulated.
