A nostalgic touch for all ex-skiers - here we are, two weeks away from Christmas recess as I write this, and the Dartmouth Skiway is already open!
During the past month announcement has been made of the endowment of two chairs by the Given Foundation to be known as: The Irene Heinz Given Professorship in Pharmacology, and The John LaPorte Given Professorship in Cytology. Robert E. Gosselin, M.D., Ph.D., is the first incumbent of the Chair in Pharmacology, while Shinya Inoue, Ph.D., holds that in Cytology.
Great interest is expressed by alumni relative to the admissions situation, so perhaps an interim report is in order. For the 48 openings we have available, we have already received over 1400 inquiries and some 700 have returned completed applications. Already 150 applicants have been interviewed, and our schedule up to January 1 is almost solid.
