The Class of 1931 last month brought forth a handsome, 200-page volume entitled 31-Year Report of Dartmouth'31, which is arithmetically correct if you start with the matriculation year 1927. Edited by Dick Holbrook '31, the book is devoted largely to photographs and biographical write-ups of members of the class. An interesting feature is the reproduction of the 1931 Aegis picture of each man whose photograph appears, which serves to indicate that, in most cases, time has marched on but, in a few cases, has practically stood still.
A drawing by famed cartoonist Abner Dean '31 serves as a frontispiece and shows 1931 riding jauntily on the shoulders of Father Time. Throughout the book are short vignettes of Dartmouth days familiar to '31 men. The dark green leather cover, with the Dartmouth coat of arms stamped in gold, is one of the most attractive features.
In addition to Editor Holbrook, class members who had a hand in preparing the book were Doug Morris, Rog Burrill, Went Eldredge, Rex Fall, Ed Gruen, Frank Hodson, Jack Reno, George Stevens, and Craig Thorn.
