Announcement has been made of an award of $300,000 by the Commonwealth Fund to establish an academic Department of Medicine. It is anticipated that this new department in the School will be well under way by the beginning of the 1965-66 academic year.
With transfer arrangements practically completed, Dartmouth will have representatives in the third-year classes of Colorado, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, McGill, New York University, Pennsylvania, Rochester, Temple, and Tulane next year.
The Dartmouth Medical Lecture will be delivered on May 14 by Doctor Harry Harlow of Wisconsin.
