Club President of the Year
NOVEMBER 1965

At the annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club Officers Association in Hanover last month, Thomas O. Malcolm '54 (r), president of the Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia, received the award as Club President of the Year. In making the award J. Michael McGean '49 read the following citation:

Under your leadership the Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia has set a pace which is difficult for any club to match. From August to June your calendar is filled. You and your executive committee start early to plan for the coming attractions which last year included a send-off party for freshmen, a Dartmouth Night meeting, a post-Penn Game reception, an annual dinner, special luncheon meetings in addition to weekly luncheons, a holding meeting for accepted candidates, and on it goes. The activities of a club just don't happen. They take many hours of work and effort and the most important ingredient of all - leadership. This you have given in abundance.

You have done much for Dartmouth since graduation in 1954, playing an active part in enrollment work, serving as an assistant class agent, and, of course, fully participating in the Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia activities before election to the Presidency in 1964.

After Dartmouth you graduated from Georgetown University Law School, served in the Navy for four years, practiced law in Washington, then moved home to your native Philadelphia. As an attorney with the firm of Labrum and Doak you often put Dartmouth first on your docket. That is another good reason for declaring you Club President of the Year.
