Here's an item you will all want to clip out and store away for future reference. Roger Baumberger is now an assistant treasurer of the Marine Midland Trust Company in New York. Remember how Rog used to stake us all to drinks when he was taking care of the bar at Wilder Grill. I'm sure Rog hasn't lost his good, generous nature already, so let's all go borrow money from his bank. We'll all gather in huge crowds outside the main office and then all rush in at once. Let's go on a Friday; we can call it Black Friday or Baumberger Friday. Don't worry, Roger, I think we were all joking, all except "Jay Gould" Torok.

Gotta note that John and Barbara Ratigan are off to Tanzania to teach with the Peace Corps. Now I'm sure that most of you will share my complete ignorance of the exact location of Tanzania and the bulletin from the Peace Corps assumed that simply everybody would know where to find this exotic land. But rejoice! where the Peace Corps makes gross assumptions, sagacious Al Loeb does not. He wrote a letter to your obedient serpent and mentioned that Tanzania is in . . . (are you ready for this?) ..Tanganyika!!! Now everybody knows exactly where Rats and Barb are teaching! Lawyer Loeb reports that Bill Kandel, BillCollishaw, Elliot Weiss, the famous Ratigan (see cross reference to Tanzania above) all slid slickly through Yale Law and are now collecting outrageous fees in various parts of the country. Al himself is in New York with Shoock and Shoock and La wan. DaveLazar and the former Miss Susan Schultz were wed this summer and are living in Cleveland. Bruce Beasley recently had a one-man exhibition of his sculptures in a famous New York gallery.

Al reports further (geeze but I like Al Loeb — he writes such long, factual letters) that Larry and Betsy Gleeson are living in L. A. where the man of the house is gettin' his Master's at U.C.L.A. (I assume that means United Congress of Lovers of Alcohol.) Loeb kinda faded out at this point and there were some damp spots on the bottom of the letter so I imagine that he slipped into a reverie of those Golden Years at Hanover.

Got the word that Bill and BarbaraWood have migrated from California to N.Y.C. to work for the overseas division of the First National City Bank. They are supposed to be heading for South America soon.

William "Wizard" Mazeine was recently elected to be a branch manager for the Valley Bank and Trust of Springfield, Mass. You will recall that Bill is married to the former Marcia Dillon. John Gerrish and the former Miss Almut von Kronhelm of Wetzlar, Germany were married last December in the bride's native land. The newlyweds are living in San Francisco. Another big wedding took place on February 6 between Fred Schwab and Miss Claudia Aarons. They are living in Cambridge where fearless Frederic is going for his doctorate at Harvard. There is a "soon-to-be" coming up with Tom Walther and Miss Darleen Holcomb. They're planning on the big trip in late spring. The engagement of Jim Roussel and Miss Louise Ann Ranson was announced last November. December 2 was the big day for Rich Joseph and Miss Karen Hirsch in Chicago. Two more engagements: Art Latimer and {Catherine Millham are busy planning whilst Art is at Harvard Law, and Dave Hally and Miss Betty Reaves won't be waiting long either. Dave is getting his doctorate from Harvard.

Tom Allen came out of hiding to announce his engagement to a young lady from St. Louis named Liz Curtis. Liz graduated from Colby Jr. and later Northwestern. Tom himself is messin' around with the law at the University of Michigan. They will sign the contract (well, how many different and clever ways can you think of to say "get married"???) in June. Long Tom claims that Steve Bickel is at Texas Law in Houston. Jack Curry is in the final throes of medical school in Nova Scotia (whaddaya use to practice on up there, Jack, salmon fishes??). Tom wants John Moxon to get in touch with him at Michigan Law immediately, something about a pair of socks and a hiking boot that have been missing since graduation.

Frank Norman has earned his Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from Stamford and will be teaching Psychology at Pennsylvania this fall. Man, there are a lot of smart guys among us '61's.

Still another bright-eyed brain boy is that Leader of Men, Dave Blake. He, wife Susie, and bouncing son David Jr. are living in Locust, N. J., while dad is getting (you guessed it) his Ph.D. Dave has become interested in politics and will probably be the first Dartmouth grad in the cute little cottage at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. After looking at what Uncle wants from me for Income Taxes, I hope Blake's campaign buttons read "Save with Dave."

The fund drive is coming up soon. Last year Mike Hecht led us to our best year yet. Let's help him and your local Class Agents demonstrate the infinite superiority of our Class to the College and to our friends in the Classes of '59, '60, '62, and '63. Remember if you contribute early you won't get all those harassing letters from the College and from your Class Agent. You know you plan to contribute sooner or later. Make it sooner and let's show those creeps in the other classes how to run a Fund Drive. My mailbox is empty, spend the nickel, write the letter, and thereby incur my undying gratitude (Boot).
