The 1963 Fund campaign opened on April 1 and ends on June 30. Bob Kenyon, our Head Class Agent, will surely appreciate the same generous support given him in the 1962 campaign. Remember?
Bill Sanborn is at the Worcester City Hospital, Room 605, recovering from a heart attack which has affected his left side. I visited him on February 22 and March 1, and he was quite cheerful. It looks like he'll be there for several weeks. Keep smiling, Bill!
Sam Bartlett writes that his good wife, Dorothy, fell and fractured her damaged leg on January 28 and that she will be confined to St. Luke's Hospital with the leg in traction for three months. We all hope for her very best recovery soon.
Bill Walker at St. Petersburg, Fla., has made a rapid and satisfactory recovery from his kidney operation and will return to Exeter, N.H., in May.
Another of our well loved classmates has passed to the great beyond. John EustisDowney, known to us as Jack, died on February 25, 1963 at the St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, Conn. More complete details will be found in the In Memoriam section of this or a subsequent issue. I wish to thank Charles Rice '23, Kenneth Weeks '26, and Tute Worthen for sending me the newspaper clippings.
Birthdays of classmates in April are: Allan Brown and John Burton on the 4th, Alden Eames, the 11th, Harry Warner, the 14th, Bill Smart, the 22nd, and Walter Nesmith, the 25th.
I have before me the February 7, 1963 copy of "The Suburban Sun" of Penacook, N. H. It is a new weekly newspaper published by our classmate, George Liscomb, and distributed without charge to 2500 homes of the surrounding towns. Fern is supervisor of the "want ad" column. I enjoyed the photograph of her very much as well as the write-up of the publisher, and wish them both success in this worth-while project.
Your president, James O'Neill, has received word from Elizabeth McLane that Judge is retiring as Bequest Chairman of the Class of 1907. Judge, who as you know has done an excellent job down through the years, is now dropping some of his duties and responsibilities and is enjoying better health. Will volunteers please contact Jim?
Hope to see you all at our informal reunion in June.
