Jim Briggs is on a golf kick, and in a big way. For years' Jim lived across the street from the 8th hole of the Wyoming C.C. here in Cincinnati and gets to bang the ball around every evening. Now, he wants his own golf course. It seems as though he has acquired the necessary land over in Indiana and has hired Marlene Hagge's husband as the architect. The only thing he complains about is that somewhat necessary ingredient, money.

Bud Kast, Headmaster of the Hawkens School in Northern Ohio, visited Cincinnati last week to study an experimental prekindergarten class at the Cincinnati Country Day School. The years have treated no one more kindly and he looks just as fit as he did for the "5th down" game.

Also, in the education field, Don Oakes, principal of the Berkshire Country Day School in Lenox, Mass., has recently been on a lecture tour discussing program learning and new teaching methods in elementary grades and new curriculum studies. Additionally, Don is president of the Berkshire Mental Health Association and the Stockbridge Library. Don has recently written a child's book "The Promise."

There was an excellent picture of AbDavis in the New Haven Courier last month accompanying the article announcing his chairmanship of the United Fund-Red Cross campaign. Ab knows the United Fund from the agency viewpoint as well as a campaigner. He is a director of the New Haven Rehabilitation Center and the Quinnipiac Council of Boy Scouts, both UF member agencies. His big task now is to organize the campaign and appoint the necessary chairmen. It will be hard for Fred Page to squirm out of this.

Lumberman Johnny Lesher is out in Tacoma. Wash., as Production Planning Manager for the Timberland Division of the Weyerhaeuser Company.

In recent weeks, Bill Marion was named president of the large and successful Sorg Paper Co. of Middletown, Ohio.

Ex-treasurer-hunter, Rog Feldman, is treasurer of the Veritase in Midway, Mass., and recently became president of Servair Inc. at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

Both educators Len Landry and Dr. DonMcCreery now live in Greeley, Colo., and have the same ZIP code number.

Dr. Bill Brewster is now with the Department of Anesthesiology of New York Medical Center on First Avenue. Up in Concord, N. H., Dr. Horace Blood now has his offices in the Professional Building.

As I was rushing through JFK Airport last week trying to catch a plane for Montreal, I literally ran into Chnck Glines who looks great and according to a one minute conversation, seems to be prospering well in the real estate and insurance business.

Attorney Maurice Park, a partner in the Springfield law firm of Park and Mitchell, has become a specialist in real estate law and conveyancing and as a result, has become active in the speaking tour in that field. Maurice is president of the Title Insurance Company of Hampden County and is former chairman of the Longmeadow Board of Assessors.

1944 slipped a notch in the Green Derby standings last month, but there have been more pledges made for admittance to the Century Club. You've still got until June to join the elite. From all indications, PhilPenberthy will be setting records again this year and we'll all appreciate whatever you can do to help him along the way.
