The doldrums of February - the news is sparse and the columns short but such as we have you are entitled to.

Our class agent, Townes Harris, just presented a $50,000 check for endowed scholarships to the University of Rhode Island as the trustee of the estate of Warren L. Offer. We presume as trustee he had no choice in the matter, but think that in the future he could use a little persuasion as this would look good on our Alumni Fund rolls.
We were pleased to see that at the inauguration of the president of Windham College, Putney, Vt., Dave Mcßean was in attendance representing Dartmouth at this occasion. We would like to hear more from Dave as to his current status — family life, etc.
Received a great letter from Al Hall, announcing the fact that Merry produced their third son, Benjamin Kellock, last September. The eldest is Chris, 13. now in the eighth grade at Rundlett Junior High School in New Hampshire; second son, Newell, 10, is in the sixth grade at the Millville School. Alan is now Director of Studies at St. Paul's School. This job involves three responsibilities: one, the general responsibility for the academic side of the school's program, including scheduling classes for 450 boys; second, faculty procurement and in general "dean of the faculty" responsibilities; third (and perhaps most important) college placement of the 97 seniors... all of whom apparently want to go to Harvard! In addition Al continues to referee soccer and lacrosse, is a director of the New Hampshire Council for Better Schools, a director of the Concord Boys Club, and a troop committeeman for Troop 78, B.S.A. When Alan is not involved in summer school teaching, the Halls summer in South Bristol, Me., not far from Christmas Cove, on the east bank of the Damariscotta River. Alan says, "Down East cruising fans always welcome!" Al added a little note that, although his spread section is slipping into a martinishaped curve, he claims he is the only classmate, with the exception of Warren Hulser (same school) who goes to church eight times a week.
The last piece of news is that Dick Menln, our bounce-back reunion chairman, recently had a successful operation which will enable him to give us his full time on our year-and-a-half-away reunion. Plan now for June '67.
