No news is good news, except when you have to write a column about it. You can't even talk about the weather, since it is snowing now, but by the time this appears in print, it will be spring. That the entire class hibernates in the winter is the only conclusion that can be reached.
Had a couple of "bloodies" and lunch with John Ianiri in Chicago, where we hashed over a few escapades, plus solving some of the world's largest business problems. John is the account supervisor on all of the Campbell Soup Products at the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency and knows more about soup than he really cares to. Eleanor and the five little Ianiris appeared to be in for a little problem since J.C. had stopped smoking and was going through the usual withdrawal symptoms, which do not make for better marital or paternal relations.
Talked to Russ Pfaff, who is now a a district manager for Socony Mobil, handling the very lucrative Long Island area. Russ, Flo and three little Puffs are happily enc sconced in Glen Cove, Long Island.
Russ heard from George Houze at Christmas time and passes along the information that George has 18 months to go for his medical degree, plus interning and residency but sooner or later the Houzes are expected to leave Kingston, Ontario, and return to Connecticut. As most of you are aware George is one of those remarkable classmates who left a successful career in the insurance business, well after 30, to study medicine
Which brings up the fact that we would like to hear from Al Colton, who left a successful law practice to become an Episcopal minister and, I believe, now is associated with the San Francisco diocese.
Ran into Amy Weber who said he Had seen Julie Sayre recently and could report that Julie's liquor distributorship is apparently doing well
Lansing Reed has just moved to 3815 Palo Alto Drive, Lafayette, Calif. 94549, where he is branch sales manager for Alcoa. Now if he can only sell aluminum cans to Dole in Hawaii, he would have it made.
And so we run out of things to say. Will somebody, some place, please do something so that these short columns can come to an end?
