Making some sort of record to appear on two or three covers of Luce publications (previously Sports Illustrated), Bus Mosbacher graces Time's August 18 issue as the Intrepid gentleman, which he certainly is. This column called him the Intrepid challenger a year ago. How many other Dartmouth men have made Time's cover makes good conjecture - Rockefeller '30 being one. If Bus whips Dame Pattie, he might make Life - a real hat trick.
Bob Field and assistant agents Ed Lider,Tom Schroth, Fred Lent and Tom Keeler crashed through to a great victory in the Alumni Fund Green Derby campaign against such affluent classes as 1941, 1944 and four others equally affluent. Our class contributed $37,837.84 thanks to energetic leadership. At one time '43 was in last place, and in a tremendous stretch drive won handily. In his travels Bob reported seeing LamedWaterman, distinguished Davenport counsel, John Jenkins and Graham Conklin.
Class had an informal June cocktail party at the New York Dartmouth Club attended by John Keefe, Don Reish, Bob Field, FrankHartmann, Bob Grimshaw, Bruce Jones,George Munroe, Jim Doucette. We all had an excellent dinner afterwards. Bruce Jones now owns an advertising agency in New York. Bob Grimshaw is with Victor Comptometer in New York and looks fit enough to pass the Navy flight physical he used to pass. He wanted to be remembered to old roomie Lee Alexander.

I visited Norm Probstein in St. Louis where he owns the Bel Air East and West Hotels; he'll be very popular come World Series time. The two Probstein youngsters, coming as a sort of second family, keep Norm awake at night . ... Almost acrossthe street from Norm, I found Charlie Edison as vice president of Edison Brothers Stores, where Charlie specializes in accessories (handbags, etc.) for this large chain. Charlie is very busy in St. Louis civic affairs and especially with St. Louis Country Day School.
Maurie Dampier of San Marino, Calif., put in a claim for combat pay last spring while visiting the Catalina Sportswear plant in Hong Kong. Shooting all around him. Just like his Marine days. He was glad to get home to Jean and those four little Dampiers.

Congratulations to Bill Seidman, new president of the General Association of Alumni of Dartmouth College for 1967-68. If we can get Bill away from advising Governor Romney, maybe he'll attend our fall reunion on October 6-7, Holy Cross weekend. Send room deposits to Paul Young at the College Treasurer's office. Let's get a big turnout and plan for our June reunion.
