Warren Cook '67, who captained the 1966-67 varsity hockey team as goalie, stopped in the other day just prior to a trip to Europe with the U.S. National Ice Hockey team. Warren is in the thick of early tryouts for the up-coming Olympics.
Having been one of the chosen to see QB Bill King '63 lead the 1962 football squad through nine perfect games for Dartmouth's first undefeated season since 1925, I couldn't suppress a smile when I saw soph passing sensation Bill Koenig wearing King's number "14." Koenig, from Salem, Oregon, needs experience, but he has a powerful arm. Those of you interested in superstitions, coincidences, Black (man) magic, hear this: Koenig in German means ... "King."
Art Thibodeau, equipment manager at the Athletic Council, and a familiar, friendly face to Dartmouth athletes for more than forty years, retired this summer because of his health.
Glenn Wilson '55, captain of the 1954-55 basketball team at Dartmouth and now an Air Force Captain, is reported to have been shot down while on a mission over North Vietnam in an F4C. He managed to bail out, and it is assumed that he is a prisoner of the North Vietnamese.
