Secretary, 96 Preston Street, Windsor, Conn,

Since our last appearance here, Hartford has had a change of leadership which bears mentioning. Guiding star of the club for the next two years will be The Connecticut Bank's Dynamic David Payne '58. Giving the assist will be Stu Summers '59 and PeteSchwartz '6O as vice-presidents, Bob Foster'4B in the secretary slot, assisted by DickWatson '59, and the purse strings will be held by Pete Palin '61. The Executive Committee will consist of Cal Billings '28, SaxZiemen '35, Rich Fisher '41, Culver Modisette '5O, Ted Rice '52, Dick Page '54, HerbIsaacson '58, Roger Hanlon '60, Moe Banks'61, and Rip Maxwell '61.

Programwise, Hartford has been busy carrying out the year's plans, started by the Annual Freshman Luncheon in September. There a packed house at the City Club heard Sophomore Don Johnson '69 convince the newcomers that Hanover in the next four years held plenty of rewards to those who gave something in return. These comments were amplified by guest speaker Mike Slive '62, Assistant Director in the Financial Aid Office. A month later we were honored by a visit from hockey coach Ab Oakes '56 at the October Luncheon, where we learned a few of Ab's ideas for the coming season.

Come November, we're going local by way of our own John Day '47 who was recently appointed manager of the first G. Fox & Company expansion store in Waterbury. John was with the Pre-May company Fox store and obviously impressed the new regime. Wah-hoo-wah, John! December plans call for another local, Mr. John Ives, who is currently Director at McCook Hospital, and Director of Hospitals, University of Connecticut Medical School. He will talk about the new Medical School and the role of the municipal McCook facility. That should cover the 1967 Lunch- eon season, but plan ahead to January 19 for an evening of football movies and beer as we bring back stag night in place of a lunch. Coach Jake Crouthamel '6O will probably be with us as an added attraction. The usual pre-Yale game smoker is in doubt as of this writing, and will be history as of this reading.

Meantime, amongst all the eating meetings we've been holding, Rich Fisher '41 has been his usual busy self, heading up enrollment work in our area. A battery of meetings for school guidance personnel and prospective students was again held at Kingswood School in October as part of our program to keep our team on top when it comes to interesting and enrolling the best for Dartmouth. Interviewing teams will soon be at work on a new batch of applicants, and the fall goes on. Here's an invitation to all to meet with us on second Wednesdays at noon at the City Club. You can see they should prove to be interesting gatherings.

Shown at the September dinner of the Dartmouth Club of Westchester, New York, are (l to r) club president Tom Schwarz '57, basketball coach Dave Gavitt '59, andTim and Mike Hannigan, who were about to become members of the Class of '71.
