The Big Green booters have had a frustrating season, for just when it seemed likely that they were set to pull some big upsets, injuries struck throughout the entire squad. The limping but walking started, those on crutches seemed to be the only reserves. They stuck it out, indeed they did much more than that. With many key players sitting on the bench, Coach Burnham's team scored quickly against Harvard and held a 1-0 lead into the final period. The Crimson, vying for the Ivy Title with Brown, managed to score three goals in the closing minutes of the contest over the tired Indians to win 3-1. Reserve strength told the tale for the home team, with Dartmouth straggling valiantly to come back.

The next week at New Haven the Green could not muster their scoring attack, and Yale won a stiff battle, 2-0. As some of the injured veterans returned to action, Indian fortunes improved. Columbia fought the Green to a scoreless tie in New York. But it was the next week, in Hanover, that Dartmouth had some surprises in store for the visiting Big Red. The Indians scored twice in the second quarter, and again in the fourth, never giving up the lead and winning 3-1. One game remained, at Princeton after Thanksgiving. Their record, an unimpressive 2-7-1 to date, in no way expresses the superb quality of soccer the Indians have been playing under very adverse conditions.
