The 55th annual meeting of the Cheshire County Dartmouth Alumni Association was held at Winding Brook Lodge Thursday evening, December 29, 1966. About 70 hardy members braved very inclement weather to make the meeting. The nominating committee, consisting of Ken Arwe 40, George Kingsbury '38, and George Haima '39, brought in the following slate of officers for the ensuing year: President, Thomas Nichols '40, vice president, Joseph Baute '52, secretary-treasurer, Russell G. Putney '22. Examining Committee: Robert Mensel '41, Sam Bradley '54, and Ralph Rieth '44.

Brig Knight '13 gave a very interesting talk on the founding of our organization and gave credit to Nat Leverone '06, donor of the Field House, for being the spark plug, but everyone pitched in and kept the ball rolling. Jack French '68, speaking for the undergraduates, said there is constant change at Dartmouth both in the physical growth and student concepts. He mentioned the new computer center, the medical layout, and the Hanover Inn - also that girls are allowed in dormitories and fraternities until 2 A.M. (my, my).

The guest speaker of the evening was Jake Crouffoamel '60, backfield coach of the Dartmouth Indians. He said he was proud of this year's team which tied for the Ivy League title with Harvard and Princeton. They were under pressure all the way-first because of the long winning streak which everyone was trying to break, and then beating Cornell to get a share of the title. Next year he predicts a better defense but with the loss of so many key players a not so potent offense. He felt that alumni and sportswriters seem to have great faith in "Blackman Magic" but it's up to the alumni to keep the good boys coming to Dartmouth. The film "Football Highlights of 1966," always a solid attraction, closed the evening.

At a Dartmouth Alumni Association of Long Island dinner, past presidents gathered(l to r) Ted Girault '27, Mike Pender '47, Jack Coulson '39, Gordon McKernan '42,John Wolff '32, Carll Buhler '30, Wally Rushmore '32, Larry Schwartz '58.
