We have a classmate who has just become a Marine Corps brigadier general. He is John Bouker. From the Maine Reserve while in Hanover John went following graduation into the commissioned reserve. Then for several years was employed by the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. After being called to active duty in 1939, he served during War II in Marine operations in the South Pacific and subsequently in various assignments overseas and in the continental United States. Presently he is on duty as deputy director of the Marine Corps Reserve.

Andy Schmidt, genial personal loan officer of the Hampden Savings Bank of Springfield, Mass., was named "Credit Manager of the Year" by the Springfield Retail Credit Association. Andy is treasurer of the Advertising Club of Springfield as well as chairman of its finance committee, also is a director of the Retail Credit Association.

Featured speaker at the Danbury (Conn.) Association of Life Underwriters recently was Jim Stephens of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. His topic was "Business Insurance."
