It is . Cherry Blossom Festival time in Washington, D. C., as I pen this copy, which reminds me of the recent appointment by President Johnson of Stephen J.Pollak as White House Advisor for National Capital Affairs. Steve, who was chairman of the Washington Planning and Housing Association in 1965 and 1966, had been second in command of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division before his elevation to this post, which not only involves the District government and the potential reorganization thereof but also encompasses a wide range of national urban affairs. Steve's new office is located in the Executive Office Building.

John O. Brotherhood Jr. is busier than ever with banking activities, having been named state chairman of the Bank Public Relations and Marketing Association here in Connecticut. He is head of the Hartford National Bank & Trust Company's marketing department, but when not engaged in the greenback business may be found in Community Chest, Children's Museum of Hartford, or Connecticut Valley Council of the Girl Scouts of America activities..

In a different phase of marketing in the Hartford area, we find Dick Johnson is sales manager for the Philip Hano Company, a business forms firm. Dick, Peg, and their three children live in West Hartford; his office is in Wethersfield.

Another banker and active participant in civic activities is Robert L. Miller, vice president of the Liberty National Bank & Trust Company in Buffalo, N. Y. Bob is the 1967 community division chairman of the United Jewish Fund, as well as being chairman of the Board of Advisors of the Erie County Board of Mental Health and director of the Mental Health Association, a director of the Niagara Frontier Vocational Rehabilitation Center, and director of the Western New York chapter, United Negro College Fund.

The Wall Street Journal recently carried the announcement of the election of John C. Harned to senior vice president of the New York investment firm of Glore Forgan, Wm. R. Staats, Inc.

Dr. George M. Woodwell of the Brookhaven National Laboratories recently journeyed from his Long Island post to the University of Maine campus, where he formerly taught, to deliver a lecture on radio activity, pesticides, and the pollution problem.

In Chattanooga, Tennessee, Owen R.Smyth has been promoted to manager, pension division of the Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company.

The John Oster Manufacturing Company in Milwaukee has appointed Sandy Marson to the newly created position of director of purchasing and material control. Oster produces a complete line of portable electric appliances for food preparation and personal care. Sandy was a buyer in the Ternstedt Division of General Motors in Flint, Mich., before joining Oster in 1959 as assistant to the purchasing agent. He was named purchasing agent in 1964.

We are extremely sorry to report the passing of Bob Sisk's wife, Kathryn, on March 7 at Yale New Haven Hospital, after a long illness. The heartfelt sympathies of the Class are extended to Bob and the four children, Robert J. Jr., Kathryn, Julie, and Laura, and to Mrs. Sisk's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norton who are with them at their home on Blake Avenue, Clinton, Conn.

Bringing address revisions up to date, we find John L. Truscott at 4519 Klingle Street, N.W., Washington, D. C. 20016. I think this address was previously used by Lud, and hope to be in his city shortly to check up on him. Up the road apiece, Harry E. Foster's spot is 20 West Franklin Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201. Allan M. Cate's mail now goes to Box 251, Athens, Pennsylvania 18810; and career Army man F. PhilipGross is temporarily stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where it's Box 680, Room 3-D; word reaching me via his home town of Pleasantville, N. Y., is that Phil has been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.

Marland E. Brenner reported in from 240 West Dunwood Road, Fox Point, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53217. Dr. Peter L.Irving is located in one of the best known areas of the west; his address is Box 3476, South Lake Tahoe, California 95705. And in the Islands, Dr. Calvin Sia's address now is 656 Paikau Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815.

I guess that about winds it up for this issue, gang, except that I know there's another great "50-50" which is in the mill for April or early May distribution. In closing, we'll put in a positive plug for our favorite tax-deductible item, the Dartmouth Alumni Fund. Yes, it's that season again, and your prompt, thoughtful and wholehearted support will be especially appreciated.
