Except for a few minor details such as the seats and the score of the football game, your class fall reunion was a great success. Friday's golf game produced conversation, prizes, some scoring, but no Wormser holein-one. Friday night at Hopkins Center was very festive, although apparently the freshmen are having to go far afield every year for railroad ties for the bonfire. A blind sophomore piano player was great, played any and everything and inspired some glee club competition. Saturday's class meeting had some 50 classmates and wives in attendance. By now, you have heard of the unfortunate passing of Lovey Lovegrove. Bernice, his wife, sent a substantial check in his memory which the class voted to put in Dick's House Endowment Fund. The Class voted an expression of appreciation be extended by the secretary for this thoughtfulness. BobFunkhouser reported on Dick's House and the Pine Tree Fund. Paul O'Connell, new bequest chairman, picked up the challenge of his new class job. Bill North, your new Speakeasy editor, was congratulated by President Mullin for his fine maiden (?) effort. Also, he congratulated Sam Wormser for his great job on Alumni Fund. Don McCall said there would be a class dinner in New York this winter, details to follow. Bob Stevens reported '27 Pine Tree is over the hump according to Joe Cloud.

Class adjourned to Pine Tree where we had lunch. Saturday night we gathered at the Montshire Restaurant for a fine evening. Doane Arnold gave us a Maine story. HowieMullin was a great advance agent for the field of academe for those of you who don't want to retire. Big Gus Buschmann was there with his attractive Sue and his taller son. Phil and Madeline Fowler received an ovation for a great reunion and said we would be back next year for the Penn game. And Penn beat Princeton!

Bob Stevens and Peggy have sold their house but kept their tree farm. They have bought a place in Dorset which will be a major renovation project for them. This gets Bob closer to the golf course but will postpone their trip to Japan for a while.

Bruce McKennan and Phvrne were on hand as usual, despite a stroke Brace had suffered only 60 days previously. To come all across the country under these circumstances was evidence of great devotion to College and Class. Bruce and Phyrne are the '27 hosts of the far west - having entertained this past summer, Lowell Wormley, his wife and daughter, Ralph Miracle and Jim Murray and their wives. This is the first news your secretary has had of Miracle since taking the job - great to know he is around and kicking. Another visitor was Granville Libby who was looking forward

Other news of the west - Sam Martin is the new northwest member of Alumni Council. Dud and Lois Bonsai had lunch with Sam and Elly in Oregon and report them "full of good cheer and affection for Dartmouth." And still west coast news, Frank and Sonia Coulter went further west rather than east, spending 3 weeks in the outer Hawaiian Islands; Duke sends greetings.

Mike and Gertrude Choukas are planning to winter in Greece - Athens, I believe. The Fowlers hope to visit them there.

Incidentally, foregoing crack re seats at the game resulted in my writing Hanover, "How come?." Best conclusion I can draw from answer received is that priorities and attendance grew faster than the new stands and '27 almost got squeezed out of the field; maybe we gave the whole new stand to Princeton.

Dow and Alice Mills report the marriage of their son Stephen to Mary Mac Donald this past June. Their daughter Kathy is at Windham College, Putney, Vt., which will get the Millses to New England, now and then.

Fritz Kortlucke explained how an obstetrician plans all births for Tuesdays and Wednesdays so that he can spend the rest of the week at their new place in N.W. Connecticut. His son Derek is in the Philippines and daughter Sheila at Kansas University going for a Ph.D. in mammology.

Bob Bliss says their printers' strike is nearing an end - and his paper "Janesville Gazette" has never missed an issue!

Jack Andrews writes Gus that they had a great summer at their camp entertaining son and daughter and six grandchildren.

Oh yes - got the fine news that FrankCloran on July 23 married Joe Kelly's widow, Dottie. This keeps a good thing in the class. Speaking about widows, you girls should check with Dorothy Cleaveland, who again attended fall reunion. Came along with Frank and Evelyn Strong. And LillieDreher Kugelman brought her husband Lawrence, class of '24.

Two '27'ers apparently attended _ Alumni College - a note from Ted Selig says, "Dorothy and I had a class reunion of our. own at Alumni College with Gerry and Miriam Brickett."
