December was doubly festive for many young ladies whose names appeared on the social pages. On Dec. 29 Katherine Kennedy of New York City was married to David Treadway, son of Dick Treadway, at the Little Church Around the Corner. Jim Treadway was best man for his brother and Lauris Treadway, sister of the groom, was one of the bride's attendants. A reception for the couple, both seniors at the University of Pennsylvania, was held at the Georgian Suite. In the First Presbyterian Church of Englewood, N. J., on December 27 Jean Mueller, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. R. Sterling Mueller, was married to George L. Tillinghast 3d, son of George and MarionTillinghast. Both of the newlyweds are graduates of Colby College and the groom is attending the Amos Tuck School in Hanover. George and Marion live in Rumford, R. I., where he is president of the George Tillinghast Co. of Providence, manufacturer's representatives for plumbing supplies.

Sandra Scott of New York, daughter of Brig. Gen. Richard P. Scott U.S.A. and Mrs. Scott of Brunssum, the Netherlands, is engaged to Cadet Bruce Erion of the United States Military Academy, son of Don andEleanor Erion of Nashua, N. H. Gen. Scott is a former commandant of cadets at West Point and is presently chief of staff for logistics at Allied Forces Central Europe, NATO headquarters. Cadet Erion's father is vice president of the J. F. McElwain Shoe Corp. in Nashua and his grandfather, the late Francis P. Murphy, was governor of New Hampshire. The couple will be married at West Point in June following Cadet Erion's graduation.

Dr. Lou Benezet is in demand on the speaking circuit and in November was the first speaker heard in the new gymnasium- auditorium of the Athenian School, located at the South Gate of the Mt. Diablo State Park, California. This is the first campus of a planned four-campus cluster. It is a coeducational boarding school on the high school level established three years ago. Dr. Benezet's subject was "Status vs. Chance," and as president of the Claremont Graduate School and University Center the cluster campus concept is close to his heart. Another college president holds forth in a rival sunshine state. Dr. Roy Berengren Jr. has been president of Daytona Beach Junior College, Daytona Beach, Fla., since 1960. Roy and Rosemary have three children, David who is a senior at Dartmouth, Barbara, a sophomore at Rollins College, and Jon who is still in grammar school. In Gainesville, Fla., Art Funk is professor of Humanities at the University of Florida. Art has done extensive research on American-French relations during the war years and is author of "Charles de Gaulle, the Crucial Years, 1943-44." History repeats itself. Art and Genevieve have two sons, the older of which, Laurence, is a junior at Duke University where his father once taught.

In Worcester, Mass., Dr. Bob Bennett practices in obstetrics and gynecology. He and his wife, Rosamond, have five children. Their oldest, Bob, graduated from Dartmouth in 1964 and is now at Cornell Medical School following in his father's footsteps. There must be a lot of mail and telephone calls in the Bennett household since Peter is a junior at Hobart, Bruce is in the U.S. Marine Corps and Lavinia is a senior at Pine Manor. Rebecca graduated from Chatham in 1965.

February is a great month for skiers - if there is snow. The snow arrived just in time in New England to save the Christmas week skiing. No doubt Bob and Dean Blades have been out on the lifts at Swain Ski Slopes which is nearby their home in Hornell, N. Y. Bob is vice president of A. L. Blades & Sons, Inc., General Contractors in Hornell, and working hard to keep up with the tuition invoices for Bonnie Ann, a senior at Skidmore, and Bob Jr., a junior at Dartmouth. Elizabeth is still in Hornell High.

In Newport, N. H., Malcolm Rowell was recently elected an incorporator of the Sugar River Savings Bank which is a great name for a money mill. Mac is assistant manager of Rowell Brothers in Newport and is very active in community musical activities. Across the Connecticut River in Brattleboro, Vt., Marty Brown is employed at the Book Press. Six years ago he and Ann Marie were hard at work restoring a 1796 house which must be finished by now. Their son, Martin III, is a graduate of Middlebury and is presently serving in the U.S. Army as Captain. Their daughters, Karen and Gretchen, have completed schooling. Karen graduated from Colby Junior and Gretchen from Children's Hospital in Boston. In Woodstock, Vt., Nelson "BMP' Brown is manager of F. H. Gillingham & Sons, retail hardware and grocery merchants. I can't think of a more beautiful town to live in - regardless of season. Biff and Orvel have a son, Stephen, who is a sophomore at Dartmouth. Their other two sons, Jonathan and Russell, are still in grammar and high school.

It is also the season when parents with senior high school boys are busily completing college applications. Some of our classmates are involved with local enrollment and alumni activities. Ray Reitman is area enrollment director for Essex, Morris, Sussex, and Warren Counties, New Jersey. Courtney Catron is handling similar functions in Nevada. Dr. Jesse Gait is president of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of the Sea- coast Region, Rochester, N. H. John S. Sullivan is secretary of the Alumni Club of Merrimack Valley, Lawrence and Lowell, Mass. Brew Towne is president of the Alumni Club of Tucson, Ariz. On the west coast Ed Drechsel of Belvedere, Calif., represents the western states as a member of the Alumni Council. These fellows are ready to lend a helping hand or close the communication gap with Hanover. So am I - if you will write the latest news.
