Interim report of possible 70th reunion. That inspiring genius of reunions, Assistant Secretary, Dave Orr '57, having reserved headquarters for it, wrote me to that effect. Copies of his letter were sent by me to all who attended our 65th, and to families whose addresses I had. The Noes were Mrs. Walter S. Adams, California; Supreme Court Justice Laurence I. Duncan '27; W. Everett Hoyt '37, Virginia; Warren D. Jones, Mrs. Myron G. Littlefield, Pennsylvania; Frederick M. Lord '36, Pennsylvania; Mrs. J. Dudley Pope, daughter of Buell, whose husband is Class of 1923 writes that they are living in Winter Park, Fla.; wrote that all '98ers are welcome; Mrs. V. C. Clement, Swift's daughter, who tells of the death of her mother, Mary Edgeat Swift in 1966.
Those who might be able to come: Barbara and Charles W. Bartlett '27, from Boston; Josiah B. Chandler '30 from Connecticut. Envelopes were returned addressed to Mrs. Sherman R. Moulton, Mrs. Robert E. Peck, and Mrs. Clarence Sibley. The only comers are Tabor, my family, and Miss Elizabeth C. Spring, who hopes to have her brother Dr. John Spring '25 with his wife and some descendants.
Whether the reunion is to eventuate will depend on the answer of the Leggetts and the daughter of Ich Crane, who made up half of our 65th.
I hope by the time this issue reaches you that their presence will be assured. I pray that our beloved president, Fred Lord, will hold his own at Brookside and his faithful wife, Jeanne will have his proxy.
Catherine F. Carney, Joe's devoted partner, writes from Delray Beach, Fla.: "Joe was glad to hear from you. There are so few of his classmates left. He is doing very well considering he will be 92 on March 19. He gets out to walk each day and enjoys seeing his friends for dinner now and then. We both feel we are very fortunate to be down here, away from the cold and snow. Remember me most kindly to your good wife."
