Among this month's news is word that Peter Graves has completed a successful year as senior vice president of Nelson Entertainment. Peter writes: "My responsibilities broadened to include running the feature film marketing for the company and we are fortunate enough to have two surprise market-driven hits during the year. 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' (a definite twomartini movie) was the number one film for the entire industry for the first quarter, taking in over $40 million at the box office, and 'Prancer' (definitely not for diabetics), which went out the week before Thanksgiving, is on its way to a $20 million box office.

"We also had the good fortune to be a majority financial partner in 'When Harry Met Sally ...' (definitely just a terrific movie) which will do over $90 million at the box office. In 1990, we will have six new films coming down the pipeline, including 'Texasville,' the Peter Bogdanovich sequel to 'The Last Picture Show,' with Jeff Bridges, Cybill Shepherd, and the rest of the cast returning from their earlier roles. We will also have 'The First Power,' a film directed by Robert Resnikoff '68.

"On a more personal note, I know 'it's only rock and roll,' but I caught the Stones and Paul McCartney on their way through L.A. and I still 'like it, like it, yes I do.' "

For those of you who may have missed it, Willie Bogan was one of six former college football stars inducted last year into the GTE Academic Ail-American Hall of Fame. Each of the inductees was chosen because he excelled in the classroom as well as on the playing field, and has gone on to high achievement in his career. An attorney in Los Angeles, Willie is active in community affairs. After being drafted by Baltimore in the 1971 draft, he turned down a professional career in favor of a Rhodes scholarship from Oxford, where he earned degrees in politics and economics.

Willie was selected from among nominees chosen by the 1,400-member College Sports Information Directors of America. NBC sports commentator Dick Enberg served as master of ceremonies for the event, which was held in New York City. Others on hand included Pete Dawkins, Merlin Olsen, and Reggie Williams '76.

That's all for now. Send in your news. We'll be back next month.
