At a supper meeting held February 21, 1968 at Hoyt's Dinner Bell in Albuquerque, fourteen alumni of Dartmouth voted unanimously to organize as the Dartmouth Club of New Mexico.
A pro-tem executive committee was selected from volunteers without designation of officers. Volunteers were Dr. C. M. "Roe" Thompson '36, Bill Bates '45, Dr. Bill Michener '51, Dr. Ted Mortimer '44, Dick Paul '41, Dick Mather '40, and Dick Redington '64. Several of the above were volunteered in genuine "first sergeant" style by Dick Mather in his role as president pro-tem.
Further vote set the amount of annual dues and approved April 5 as the date for our First Annual Meeting and Dinner, at the Panorama Inn at 6:30 P.M.
Present at this kickoff dinner in addition to those above were Furber Haight '21, who came from Taos for the meeting winning top distance honors. Bob Long Jr. '56, Dr. P. G. Cornish '51, Dr. William Christensen 'MS6S, Frank Jacome '64, Dave Gallagher '35, and George French Jr. '45.
