Among John's contemporaries who were on hand for the luncheon were: Geddes Carrington '43; Fred Mills Jr. '44; Ralph Bogan Jr. '44; Charles Fox '44; and Fred Lent '43. Others among the 41 local alumni in attendance included Robert Maxwell '23; George Woodruff '18; Donald Brown '50; and Gene Hotchkiss '22. Also on hand was Coach Earl Hamilton who urged the alumni to continue to be active in making sure that those boys who were recently admitted to the college are, in fact, going to attend.

Norrie Williamson '26 reported that 77 boys from this area were recently accepted by the College for the Class of 1972. This group was selected from a total of 190 completed applications.

Early this spring the association hosted the annual president's dinner at the Kenilworth Club for which 165 people were in attendance. President John Dickey '29 spoke on the attitudes of the student body and the general feeling of unrest among young people throughout the world today. LewWilliams '10, who was president of the Dartmouth Club of Chicago when John Dickey was first elected president of the College and who first introduced him to the Chicago Association as the College President, walked from his home in Winnetka to the Kenilworth Club to shake hands with Mr. Dickey.
