The months of February and March have been wild and woolly in Chicago not only from the standpoint of weather but also for association activity. On the final day of January, and extending for some into February, the loyal football boosters gathered at the University Club to view on the new sound films the team's battle to a tie for the championship. An added feature was the showing of the new sound slides of the College.
Later in February members of the Association and their wives gathered at Michigan Shores Country Club for the annual President's Dinner. An excellent turnout of spirited Men in Green heard President Dickey give his usual fine address and then joined in heartiest congratulations to JustinStanley '33 as Page Worthington '33, president of the Alumni Council, presented him the Dartmouth Alumni Award. The honor was richly deserved as Justin has been quite active here on the local level in addition to the time he served in Hanover under a leave of absence from his legal duties.
Bill Embree III '50 has spent a great deal of time organizing what promises to be one of the most successful Glee Club concerts ever held in the Chicago area. At this writing tickets are going fast and anyone who is interested should contact Bill immediately to reserve a seat. That's March 24 at the Hinsdale High School.
Our last item for the month concerns the excellent job Fred Lent '43 is doing in his capacity as "clearing house" for the summer job placement program in the Chicago area. Anyone having knowledge of positions (from messenger to president) available should contact Fred at Jones and Laughlin Steel. Also, if you know of students who may need some assistance in this area steer them in Fred's direction.
