I hope those of the 1903 family have already received (and read) my News Letter of August. For his many friends, especially those in the older classes, please refer to the In Memoriam in this October MAGAZINE. The loss of Lewis Haney on July 1, the day after he had finished his first year as Head Class Agent, was a real loss to the Class, the College, and his many personal friends. Lewis had done a real job as 1903 Reunion Chairman at its 65th Reunion in 1968 and again as Head Class Agent in the 1969 Alumni Fund Campaign in which he had just successfully completed his first year.

A recent letter came in from Gink Ford. He still is sort of on the fence as to the desirability of moving. He says he is in good health and hopes to be with us in '73 for our 70th Reunion.

In our June notes there was a picture of our Harry (Pudge) Morse doing an imitation of "Tiny Tim" in a Cleveland University Club show. Pudge wrote to know how the photograph made its way to Hanover and into the MAGAZINE'S '03 notes. A Dartmouth friend of later vintage had sent me the picture with the comment that Harry was the hit of the show. I wrote Harry and received a delightful four-page letter telling of his interesting and highly successful life. Like Howard Ropes and his abhorrence of the rocking chair, Harry is still a member of his firm which has been in business 53 years. He stands tops in the engineering and industrial design field in Cleveland and this is not from his letter. He has earned it. He was 88 years young last May 29.

A very charming letter from Mrs. LewisHaney was forwarded from the magazine office in Hanover. She is continuing her and Lewis' interest in 1903 and Dartmouth.

I am still working on the important project of securing another good man to succeed Lewis as the Class Head Agent. Please help.
