Another of our number has joined the book author group. Ned Kenerson has for many years been interested in searching out his early New England ancestry. His work has taken him beyond the confines of the immediate family. From the "Foreword" announcement of publication of his "Inbred Yankee" it would appear he has compiled valuable information not only of his own kin but of other worthwhile New England families and also customs and information of historic data at various stages in New England history. Sounds as if the book should be a must for every New England library.
Ned is back in his Green Valley winter refuge from the Boston wheezes. He writes of playing "3 par hole" golf a few times each week.
Bill Conner wrote from his new home in Charlton, Mass., of being sick but hopes to write a real letter when he feels stronger. I sent you his new address in the December notes.
Gink Ford sent in his photograph but did not date it so I cannot pass judgment as to whether he is as young and good-looking as at the last reunion in '63 but it is a good picture. Gink is again planning a springtime Eastern trip and I only hope he can make a stopover in Binghamton. He feels that his wife Helen is on the mend after her long illness. We all hope he is correct.
We have had several good notes from some of our loyal widows and I look forward to hearing from more of them: just to name a few are Mrs. Cohen, Mrs. John Wentworth, Mrs. Frederick Guardineer, Mrs. Dick Brown. Mrs. Brown is spending the winter months with her daughter in Dayton, Ohio. As far as getting in real good (or in fact any kind) letters to cheer up this old timer and give him something to write you about, our widows are putting most of you mere males to shame.
Next month I will try to give you the run-down on the 1967 Alumni Fund which as usual will be starting April first. Even now contributions have started coming in. Early giving saves the Fund Office considerable office work and headaches. I know they will appreciate your help and they are a swell bunch of devoted workers for Dartmouth.
