What looked like it might be one of Dartmouth's finest soccer teams is having all sorts of problems and Coach Whitey Burnham can't figure out why.
After opening with wins over Middlebury and Springfield (the latter is the defending NCAA Regional cham- pion), the Indians have lost four straight and the situation has Burnham shaking his head.
The Indians, stocked with 10 of 11 returning starters and some promising sophomore talent to boot, was unable to generate an attack against Amherst, Williams, Penn, and Brown, and Burnham has reason to be concerned over the future because the schedule doesn't get easier as the Indians battle through the Ivy League competition.
"We know we have scoring ability and are sound defensively," said Burnham, "but we've been plagued by individual breakdowns that have proven costly."
