Thirty-five alumni, undergraduates, fathers of undergraduates, and candidates for the Class of 1974 attended our annual Christmas luncheon on December 29 at the University and Whist Club, Wilmington. Our speakers, Ted Mertz '73 and John Cathcart '72, provided us, and our guests, with a word picture of Dartmouth today as the student sees the College.

Each talk had serious and humorous elements that covered a range of topics such as classes and courses, "Dartmouth-out-of-doors," road trips, coeducation, student maturity and responsibility; and, importantly, the growth and awareness to become a useful citizen after graduation. Walter Mertz'36, and Jack Cathcart '39 are the proud fathers of these fine young Dartmouth men.
