Harry Pelren was bom in Concord, N. H., on a January 27 - a good many years ago. Concord is still his home base and his business base. His immediate family consists of Mrs. Pelren, their son Robert, his wife and their twin daughters. Robert's family also lives in Concord, and Robert, whose Dartmouth class is '43, became associated in 1946, following his period of service in the Navy, with the investment firm Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis, which his father has represented for many years. Harry says his health is good.

Jack Downey retired on January 1, 1953. Prior to retirement he was secretary of the four companies which comprise the Aetna Insurance Group, of Hartford, Conn. Jack and Mrs. Downey have a daughter who is Curator of Education at the Children's Museum in Hartford. The Downeys spend part of each summer on Cape Cod, took a cruise to South America last winter, and are planning a similar trip this winter.

Joe Mahoney entered college from Millers Falls, Mass. After graduation he went into the storage and moving business in New York City. For health reasons, he went to Denver in 1920, and, after he had recovered his health, joined the Weicker Transfer & Storage Company, the largest operation of its kind in the West. Joe has been in Denver with Weicker ever since. He has acquired seven grandchildren, who are scattered from Denver to California. Thanks to Joe, the following brief reports can be made on two other Denver classmates: - frank McDonough, who came to Dartmouth from Denver, has practiced law in that city, is now retired, and lives in Palmer Lake, Colo. Ralph Knight entered Dartmouth from Randolph, Mass. When he went to Denver is not known. In 1940, he was engaged in the gas and oil business there. A year ago his wife reported that he was seriously ill. Joe Mahoney has learned recently from Mrs. Knight that he is a very sick man and was hospitalized early in December.

Cully Pierce and Dick Lane attended the successful and appropriate dedication of the new artificially-iced hockey rink at Hanover on December 4. Score Dartmouth 5, Harvard 1. Perhaps other '07 men were there also.

Judge and Elizabeth McLane attended the 50th Reunion of Rhodes Scholars in England last June. They also enjoyed a call on Lord and Lady Dartmouth at their home in Derbyshire. Judge describes them as charming people who have become very much interested in the affairs of the College. In July, the McLanes flew to Norway where they enjoyed three weeks in exploring the gorgeous scenery of that country.

Mrs. Ivan Greenwood writes that the ALUMNI MAGAZINE has been important reading in her family for many years, first because her father, George R. Harlow 78, received it; later because of Ivan's interest; and now because she receives it in her own name.

Hermon Hill's vocation is serving the Government as head of one of the divisions in the office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. His avocation is bowling. Recently he was a member of the Dartmouth team which had the satisfaction of defeating Yale in the local Intercollegiate League. Hermon and Mrs. Hill make their home in Washington, D. C. They have two sons, one a member of the Class of '41, and four grandchildren, two of whom are twin granddaughters.
