Donald E. Meads '42, chairman and chief executive officer of International Basic Economy Corporation, and John O. Zimmerman '32, president of General Motors Acceptance Corporation, have been appointed as new members of the Board of Overseers of the Tuck School by the Dartmouth Board of Trustees. Both men will serve three-year terms.
In addition to heading IBEC, advisers and financiers of a wide variety of businesses in underdeveloped countries, Mr. Meads is a member of the executive committee of the U.S. Council of the International Chamber of Commerce and a member of its board of trustees and consultive committee to the U.N.
Mr. Zimmerman, with GMAC since 1954, has been associated with General Motors since 1934. GMAC is a national finance company for GM aautomobile sales. He is also chairman of the board of Motors Insurance Corporation, a wholly owned automotive insurance company of GMAC.
Reappointed Tuck Overseers were Alexander Calder Jr. '38, president of Union Camp Corporation; John D. Dodd '22, retired vice president of the New York Telephone Company; and Bradford Smith Jr. '25, chairman of the board of the Insurance Company of North America. The chairman of the Tuck Overseers is James P. McFarland '33, president and chief executive officer of General Mills, Inc.
