Jeanette Virgin, widow of Arthur Virgin, writes me that it has seemed advisable for her to give up some of the responsibilities in connection with the farms at North Hatley. She has therefore sold two of them but retains possession of Clematis, the home farm. This farm is beautifully located overlooking the valley and nearby lake. As long as possible Jeannette, while residing in New York during the winter, will make Clematis Farm her summer home.
It is encouraging to note that Alice Rankin, widow of Walter F. Rankin, still maintains her residence at 20 Church Street, Brookline, Mass. She was able to spend a happy week visiting her daughter Marjorie in Springfield, Mass., then later motored to Lisbon, N. H„ for a weekend with her son and his family.
Esther Gould, daughter of Roger Dunlap, reports that for a week in June her sister Catherine and family, joined them at Moody Beach in Maine. Throughout the summer, Esther, her husband Phil (Dartmouth '24), and members of the family have enjoyed the use of their summer home near Machias, Me.
