I believe the readers of this column may be interested in an account of the Atwood home in Chelsea, Vt. Fred Atwood came to Dartmouth as a member of the Class of 1900 from this ancestral home and thereby gained the familiar and loved nickname of "Chels." The large and commodious house was built by Phinias Dodge in 1797. Over the years this house was Fred's home and has served as the summer gathering place of the Atwood family. As his wish was that the house should remain in his family, it seemed appropriate to Marion, Fred's widow, that this was the year she would comply with his desire, and so, title to the property was transferred to a second cousin, H. Russell Morse Jr. a Princeton alumnus, and now assistant attorney general of the State of Vermont. He, his wife, and four daughters will make this their home. Arrangements have been made whereby Marion retains in the house her own room, and as long as she can drive her car, expects to return for visits from time to time.

Mary, the beloved wife of Everett W.Goodhue, passed away at the Austin Home in Warner, N. H., Wednesday evening, October 7. A simple memorial service was held at the Home, Tuesday afternoon, October 20. Mary was ever a loyal and devoted member of the 1900 family. Her presence added much to the enjoyment of our reunions and she contributed an outstanding service to our 65th Reunion in 1965.
