A very interesting letter from Jeanne Hicks, daughter of "Cut" Tirrell, informs me that her husband's father, A. B. Hicks, was a member of the Romance Language department at Dartmouth 1913-1915. Apparently, he transferred to Queen's College, Toronto, Canada. There, his son Anthony spent his youthful years and graduated from the U of Toronto. Recently, Anthony became president of the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, one of the largest insurance companies in the world.
Information has been received that on February 28, John Redington, son of John Chase Redington, retired with honors from his position as a technician with the Idaho Power and Electric Company. During the war years he served in the Air Force, photography and intelligence section, and joined the Idaho Power and Electric Company in 1947. A native New Englander - brought up in New Hampshire, where for a short time he attended Dartmouth College - John and his wife Helen plan to spend the retirement years in Boise, Idaho.
Esther Gould, daughter of Roger Dunlap, reports that she and her husband Phil who has recently retired from business, are building a cottage on Little Kennebec in Maine, which, when finished, will serve as a home base for the family. In April they flew to San Francisco for a visit with their daughter Althea, now a career girl out there.
Elizabeth Howie, daughter of Harry Marshall, writes that her four brothers are flourishing and that they all are looking forward to a Marshall family reunion in August at the Howie summer camp in New Mexico.
Helen Tuttle, widow of Don Tuttle, has moved from her apartment to the Havenwood Home in Concord, N. H. Because of physical disability her family considered it no longer wise for her to live alone and urged her to make a change. She is comfortable and happy in her own apartment surrounded by her own belongings.
Maynard Wallace, son of Arthur Wallace, has retired and is now living in Southbury, Conn.
In April Everett Woodman, son of James B. Woodman, and his wife returned to Colby Junior College campus from a most interesting trip around the world.
