If the newspaper reports of the situation in Guatemala are correct, Hamp Howe must be glad that he is not living there now.

Harvey Whittemore writes that he is legally blind and the government has furnished him a talking machine which reads books for him. Says his only physical exercise is wiping dishes. All three of Helen's and his grandchildren were married last summer.

Katherine Kelly sent me a picture of the landmark on the Kelly house on Chebeaque Island, Me. Eric lived there most of his life and Katherine still spends her summers there.

Bob Adriance has sent me an announcement of the birth of a great-granddaughter in Germany.

I hope that by the time this issue of the MAGAZINE reaches the 1906 men they will have sent their gifts to the 1970 Alumni Fund. As of May 1 only seven members had sent in their gifts. Twenty-one widows have sent in their donations.

The Class of 1906 has lost another loyal widow in the death of Hallie Smith, the wife of Joe Smith. She recently gave the College a gift of $1,000 with which will be created a permanent endowment fund in Joe's memory.

No Birthday Boys this month.
