Theo Jewett will serve as president pro tem of the Laconia Historical Society for the remainder of the Society year. The presidency was made vacant by the resignation of Mayor Robinson W. Smith due to his many other duties. "T.D." will make a splendid president.
Wright Hugus was elected president of the Executive Council of the State Bar, West Virginia. Judge's son Wright Jr. is a senior at Duke University and his daughter Mary Anne is working in Washington, D. C. (not with the Government).
Rae Bronk and Milt Aronowitz were recent visitors at the Hanover Inn. Raeburn McMahon is wintering in Florida. His son is in College now.

Jack and Louise Nelson are on a trip to California, with Los Angeles as headquarters. They'll probably see Andy Comstock and RayBennett. "Pussy" has a daughter, the tenth grandchild.
Mr. and Mrs. John S. Macdonald have made known the engagement of their daughter Margaret Ann to Girard Thomas Smith, son of Mrs. Carol B. Smith of New York and Mr. Thomas B. Smith of Milford, Conn. Margaret Ann graduated from Dana Hall, Wellesley, and is a senior at Smith College. Girard is serving in the army and is stationed at Camp Edwards, Falmouth, Mass. He graduated from Milford (Conn.) Preparatory School and Dartmouth in 1950.
