The monthly luncheon held at the University Club was interrupted, as usual, by our Prexy Don McMichael '53 with a call to business. Bob Montgomery '56 reported that our Alumni Seminar was a sell-out and he could not accommodate any slow thinkers who made up their minds at the last minute.
Gerry Samuelson '55, Enrollment Chairman, reported as follows: "We had a buffet at Cal Fisher's '32 October 17 in which twenty high school counselors participated. Jay Evans '49, assistant director of admissions, gave an informal talk on requirements for admission to Dartmouth. Sunday, October 20 we held our second meeting to which outstanding boys in our metropolitan area were invited. Sixty-five were present representing 24 schools. Jay Evans showed film strips on the College and answered many questions from the group. Our thanks go to Paul Clarkin '59 for the use of the fine auditorium in his Building and Loan Building."
We were happy to welcome into the fold Mark McCaddin T'68 who is starting his business career here with Haskins and Sells.
Our guest speaker was Mr. Robinson G. Lapp, Executive Director, Metro Denver Fair Housing Inc. In 1959 Colorado enacted the Fair Housing Law. The cause was first sponsored by a group of ministers who then got several leaders in the community interested. Supported by private gifts the success of the movement prompted several foundations to contribute. At present $500,000.00 per is given to this succeeding venture and not a penny has been received from us taxpayers via Uncle Sam.
