Our Executive Committee chairman, JimSteen, reports being on the road again after a hernia operation in Orange Memorial Hospital and now looking up to pulling up stakes for Arizona. Elwyn Taber once more is behind the wheel following two heart attacks. As of this writing we are happy to report that Henry Stevens' sister Anna is progressing satisfactorily at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, N. H., in a room donated by the family of CliffSugatt's son-in-law.

From Valley Cottage, N. Y., we have word that Don Augur has recovered from an operation on his right eye in which "a rather new method" was employed using a white-hot electric needle. Sounds terrific! All we get from Stan Lovell is a doggerel describing his freshman roommate. Guess what, Elliott White ascribes the successful event of his 82nd birthday to the right combination of alcohol and tobacco. He didn't send us a copy of his latest publication but we are sure he is still writing.

Put Russell's daughter Connie replies to a birthday letter to Put, minus any news of our classmate. Dutch Waterbury says he and Edith enjoyed a fine Wisconsin summer and will soon be back in Sun City, Ariz., where it is always warm, sometimes hot. Guy Swenson is basking in the honor conferred on his son who was recently elected President of the New Hampshire Council of World Affairs for a two-year term.

If you were on hand for our 59th you may have noted that Ray Tobey's wife Edith didn't look quite as blooming as usual. Ray now reports her blood count "getting up where it should be," thanks to the services of a newly acquired physician. Ray has been doing research on some old land records at the courthouse in Wiscasset, Me. From personal experience we can testify to the fact that such can be, as he says, "a prosaic thing" to do.

Syd Clark is now back from Germany and Austria where he was gathering material for a new book on the latter country. The encouraging news from LewWarren out in North Dakota is to the effect that he may join us next June for our 60th as he is "thinking very seriously of visiting some of my relatives in Maine" at that time. Lew reports excellent health, keeping busy with duties in his church and the American Legion. Don't fail us, Lew.

Barbara Hoban says she is fairly well settled now in Laconia, N. H., where her nephew is helping her remodel a small playhouse into an efficiency apartment. JoAdams took off for Prince Edward Island this summer. Elizabeth Park is to be commended for her work on "Because," a composition of 116 typewritten sheets compiled from the personal papers of Lyme Armes. Hope to see it published some day. Sad, but true, Alice Day, sister of Tom Brennock and wife of FreddieDay, has left us for a better land following an intermittent illness of about six months. We shall all miss her as she was a "regular" at our reunions.
