The annual fall meeting of '17ers took place at the Hanover Inn, September 24 to September 26, for the renewal of friendships and festivities. The following were present; Mott Brown and Francis. Vic and Irene Smith, Len and Lorene Reade, Roger and Carol Stone, Sherm and Helen Smith. Slats and Helen Baxter, Bob and Gail Boynton, Spique Maclntyre, Larry and Lucile Nourse, Bob and Anita Scott, Karl and Adele Thielscher, Ralph and Ethel Sanborn, Norm and Mary McCulloch, Ruth Sisson, Helen Brooks. Ralph Cocks, George Allison, Phil Evans, Everett Carroll and Duke and Dot Howe. Class officers and members of the Executive Committee met on Friday P.M. with Chairman MottBrown presiding. Karl Thielscher, PhilEvans, Bob Scott and Ted Lonnquest were appointed on the nominating commit- tee. It will be their province to submit names of candidates for class offices and members of the executive committee at our 55th reunion. Those elected will serve a five-year term. Special reports were given by the officers, but Karl's announcements about the Fun Fifty-fifth will interest you most. Make a note of the dates—June 9, 10, and 11. You will receive full details as they are planned by Karl and his committee—Bob Boynton, Vic Smith, Bob Scott, Slats Baxter, Sherm Smith. Pete Cavaney, Mary McCulloch, Ruth Sisson and Adele Thielscher. Of course, no '17 gathering would be complete without the music provided with versatility and skill by the Baxter team, following our cocktails and dinners in the Drake Room. A vote of thanks went to Bob Boynton for his excellent arrangements, and congratulations to George Allison for coming the greatest distance—from Casper, Wyo.

After many years without contact with the class, Burt and Jane How were discovered vacationing on Cape Cod by Mott Brown. The Browns quickly ar- ranged a get-together which included Sherm and Helen Smith. Burt has business connections in Hartford, Conn. We hope that this renewed relationship and a little salesmanship on our part will lure the Hows to reunion in 1972.

Another discovery—George (Creeper)Hartshorn and our treasurer Vic Smith find that they are kin. Perhaps it was the recent reference to their ancestor. Timothy Smith, that brought the relationship to light. Creeper will "tell us all about it when he returns to reunion and salutes "Cousin" Vic.

Doc Walters and several members of his family had a most satisfying trip to Russia, the last of the summer. While most of his time in Moscow was occupied with medical meetings and visits to hospitals and other institutions associated with his profession, they were able to see many places of imporance. They were escorted by Intourist guides, young college girls well qualified for their work. Also, the Walters were able to visit Leningrad, Kiev, and Yalta, the latter being new to them. In the cities which they had visited 10 or 12 years ago. they found that tremendous progress had been made and that people seemed content, well clothed, well fed and becoming strong competitors of the United States in every field of human activity. Walt was disappointed to be unable to join us for the fall gathering, but is looking forward to our 55th in June.
