The fourteenth annual '28 fall reunion at the Norwich Inn on the Penn game weekend was a very successful one. October 9 turned out to be the height of the autumn color and a triumphant day on the gridiron for the Big Green. The few drops of rain that fell during the game didn't seem to bother anyone.

The Class Executive Committee met in the morning and found class affairs to be in good shape. It was suggested that we remind you that our fall, reunion is always held on the Columbus Day weekend, which makes it easy to remember.

Attending the Executive Committee meeting were President Jack Kenerson, Treasurer Craig Haines, Class Agent LewBeers, Reunion Co-Chairman Cal Billings and George Emery, Fall Reunion Chairman Herb Sensenig, Wes Patience, JoeSmith and your secretary. Although we don't have accurate statistics on the percentage of classmates who have retired, it is interesting to note that of the nine guys listed above, only Cal, Herb, Wes, and I still have to be at the office every morning.

Cal and George told about the planning for our 45th which will be held in June 1973, with two adjoining classes, 1927 and 1929, reuning at the same time. More about this in due course.

Those in attendance for cocktails and dinner Saturday night included the Clark Blyths, the Chuck Bruders, the Herb Sensenigs and Betty Breyfogle, all of whom live in or close to Norwich; the Chris Normans who came the greatest distance (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.); the George Bells and Si Warners from Washington, D. C.; the Jack Kenersons; the Craig Haineses; the Joe Tidds; the Herb Russells; the Cal Billingses; the Lew Beers; the Wes Patiences, the Joe Smiths; the Wes Woods; the Jerry Goodwins; George Emery; the Ham Hankins; the Al Willeys and son; the Os Skinners and the John Phillipses with their four University of Pennsylvania friends who were warmly welcomed at their third appearance at our fall reunions. Many other '28ers were spotted in the stadium, but without notes to remind me, I won't attempt to list them. I did talk with the Red Sanborns and Brad Parker during the game.

John Phillips sent me an announcement of the Phillips Andover annual alumni dinner in New York at the Biltmore November 10 at which the guest of honor will be Red Sanborn and another faculty member who will be retiring in June.

Ham Hankins' son Timothy '62 has received his Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego. His research was on radioactive stars. Son Frank '65 has returned to civilian life after six years of flying for the Navy.

The New England Turf Writers Association, at their 31st annual dinner November 7 at Suffolk Downs, honored Ken Graf for having made "outstanding contributions to New England racing" during the past season. Ken was the unanimous choice of the selection committee. Ken, a Manchester attorney, is president and board chairman of the New Hampshire Jockey Club, Inc., operator of Rockingham Park. Thank you, Joe Smith, for sending the clipping. Joe, who now lives in Sanbornville, N. H., reports he joined Park Estabrook for two Rotary Club clambakes in September, one at Pittsfield where Park was bakemaster and one at Tilton. Frank Thurston stopped by to see Joe and Ruth recently.

We enjoyed a long phone conversation recently with Stu Segar of Manchester, Conn. He is retired now after 35 years in the brokerage business, has five grandchildren—one of them a girl who has the distinction of being the only girl born into the Segar family in 87 years. Stu's wife is chairman of the English Department at the high school in Manchester. Stu attends the Hartford Alumni meetings and has served four years on the Dartmouth interviewing committee.

News has just been received, and we report it with sadness, of the death of DocDowlin on July 8, Larry Miter on September 11 and Word Gilboy on October 29, all three from heart attacks. Our sympathy goes to their families.

Ken Cuddeback, district manager in Amherst for the Western Mass. Electric Co. since 1949, has been promoted to manager of the Hampshire area.

Skip and Beryl Drayton have a granddaughter, Paula Susan, born September 11 in Aruba, Netherland Antilles, to their daughter Susan and her husband, Dr. Wouter M. Huisman.

Harry Jewett reports that Dartmouth '28, Stonington, Conn., Section, had two 100% reunions in one week. He and Alice and Hollis and Anita Carlisle were guests at Art and Lee Kneerim's home and the same three couples got together at the Carlisle's home a few days later.

Barney Norton of Vergennes, Vt., writes, "October 30 was a nice fall day so Ellen and I used our Yale game tickets. Saw the following, and they all had their wives with them: Lew Beers, Red Edgar, Johnny Nixon, Mutt Jennings, Lane Dwinell, Bill Morton, Chuck Bruder, Bill Marx, and Jack Kenerson. Dartmouth was lucky to win. It was the biggest crowd I have ever seen in Hanover and we have seen a lot of them."
