If your suitcase isn't packed and your mother-in-law lined up to babysit from June 14 through 17, you might not make the tremendous 35th Reunion in Hanover. But it isn't too late. You are welcome right up through the festivities. Check TITHE for the attendance list if you are curious as to who will be there. We guarantee you a memorable Hanover holiday.

Our reunion treasurer, Cliff England, hasn't received many comments from those who are attending, but he has sent along some news about those who have replied with regrets. Pop Beckel can't make it because the Westfield, N. J., Senior High where he teaches will still be in session. Lin Bettison will be very much involved with the U. S. Open Golf tournament at the Merion Golf Club on those dates. RalphCockroft lives in California and will be attending the graduation of his son from Claremont College. Ed Drechsel has made eight trips to Hanover from his home in California during the last four years when he served on the Alumni Council. Dr. BillSicher will be in Cambridge attending the graduation of his son, Steve, from Harvard. Zeb White will be involved with commencement mencement at Yale where he is Professor of Forestry. When that is over, he will be on his way to Mexico. In these days of ecological concern, Zeb is much in demand as a speaker and during the winter one of his public speeches was entitled. "Industrial Forests and Their Environment." Col. Tom Lane is still in Germany as a command surgeon, but he is scheduled to be returned to the U. S. in late summer or early fall. Right now he is busy training his replacement.

If you can't make Reunion, you might be interested in an Alumni Golf and Tennis weekend in Hanover over the long Fourth of July holiday. This was planned because of the great interest shown in the alumni ski weekend held in March. The cost is $120.00 per couple. Send $30.00 with reservation to 203 Crosby Hall, Hanover 03755.

Bud Horn and his family are winding up an interesting year in Old Saybrook, Conn. Under the AFS program they have had a South African girl living with them and attending high school with their daughter Meredith. Their son, Hank, is a sophomore at the University of Vermont and their other daughter is married and living in Okinawa with her Navy lieutenant husband Bud is eastern manager of "Building Design & Construction" magazine.

It is pleasant to have one of your children follow in your footsteps, but DickTread way has two keeping up the Treadway Inn tradition. His son, Jim, is a senior at the Cornell University Hotel School and his daughter, Lauris Ann is currently engaged in restaurant work. JoeHandrahan is vice president of construction at Martin & Hettrour Contracting Co. in Glenshaw, Pa. His son, Joe, has kept up the sports interest, for he is teaching and coaching football, basketball, and track at Kiski Prep in Slatsburg, Pa.

Although Bill Hoffman can tell you about it" in Hanover, he had an April vacation in California and just managed to get in some golf at Pebble Beach. He was out there to see his new granddaughter born to Anne Hoffman Moore in Santa Monica. When Bill is not earning his living as vice president of the Fidelity Union Trust in Newark, he is acting as the president of the Board of Trustees of the Beard School in Orange or playing golf. Jim Whipkey would like to play golf year round, but until that time he is an association executive with the Hanson & Shea Co. of Pittsburgh. He thinks he might be closer to his goal when his son finishes Bethany College in West Virginia. Another recent California visitor was Gould Bernard. He liked the coast, but he had to get back to his desk as account manager for Union Carbide in Clifton, N. J. The Bernards will be attending,, a wedding in Georgia soon, since his son, Greg, recently announced his engagement to a girl he met when he was a student at Georgia State University. Their daughter, Barbara Jean, is a freshman at Centenary College for Women in Hackettstown, N. J.

It was once a fact that Vermont had more cows than people, but I doubt if that's true today. However, we might pose the question to an authority such as Jim Lancaster who is the owner of a 40-acre farm on Lake Champlain. Right now it is for vacations, but Jim hopes to eventually retire there when he gives up his ministerial duties with the Massachusetts Conference of United Churches of Christ. Both the Lancaster girls have deserted Massachusetts for Virginia where they are teaching.
