On March 23 the Dartmouth at Michigan club held its annual banquet and election of officers at the Town Club with about thirty alumni and wives attending Also attending were Dr. and Mrs. Swayzer Green' Dr. Green, who recently completed . here at the University of Michigan, will be taking a position in the Department of Psychology at the College in the coming school year. Doug Nichols '73 was also able to join us due to a fortuitous coincidence with the spring break. The cocktails and dinner were especially good this year due to the hard work of Bruce who undertook the greater part of the planning this year with far better than usual results.

The officers were "elected" with the usual lack of formality or a vote. MiloWhite 55 was reelected to the office of president. Martin Lindenauer '54, FredOchs 69, and Bruce Benner '49 were elected vice president, secretary, and treasurer, respectively. Bruce has the rare and notable honor of being the first treasurer to keep the club out of the red for an entire year. Elected to the executive board were Ned May '54, Steve Bauer '68, Ted Haskel '43, and Bill Cooper '66.

Dan Weintraub '54 left the office of secretary after many years of faithful service. The officers of the club as well as many members expressed their thanks to Dan for his excellent performance in this vital role in keeping the club active.

Our speaker for the evening was Professor Matthew Wiencke from the Classics Department at the College. It was very pleasant to be reminded of the calmer and more enduring aspects of the College, aspects which we all remember but never tire of rehearing.

As promised after the speech the films of the awesome 1970-71 football team were shown. I don't think anyone avoided a gasp of admiration at some of the fantastic plays made by last year's team. The entire team seemed to be more than any of us had imagined they could be. Many of us here are looking forward with mixed feelings to Coach Blackman's first season at Illinois, and to the Illinois-Michigan game.

In all the meeting, although attended by relatively few, was one of the most enjoyable ever held. The consensus was that the meal was the best ever and that the group present was one of the most congenial and interesting ever.
