The James B. Reynolds Alumni Fund Trophy Award was presented to Robert E.Ackerberg Jr. '32 at the annual dinner meeting of the Chicago `Alumni Association on April 26. The citation accompanying the award read:
Now serving his third year as the 1932 Head Class Agent Bob Ackerberg has shown that thorough and consistent work pays off. In 1969, despite gaining 20 new donors, the Class of 1932 finished last in the Group III Green Derby competition. One year later 1932 went after increased gifts from all classmates with Agent Ackerberg fielding a fine team of volunteers and producing a series of thoughtful appeal letters. This effort raised 1932 into third place in Group III, just behind the Classes of 1930 and 1931. The 1932 new dollar record which Ackerberg produced also placed them 4th among all classes in dollar improvement. The Alumni Fund Committee gratefully salutes Bob Ackerberg, his many assistants, and the 1932 fellowship by presenting him with the James B. Reynolds Trophy Award as the outstanding Head Class Agent of a class twenty-six to forty years out of College in the 1970 Campaign.
