CLASS SECRETARY
At our Fifteenth Reunion in Hanover a new Executive Committee was elected including Ted Bremble, Bill Carleton, Em Houck, Doug Keare, John Koehnng, Stu Klapper, Paul Kreindler, Clem Mann, Bill Miles, Buddy Schattman, Tim Sears, Bill Sherman, Line Spaulding, Doug Stevenson, Jon Strong, John Van de Kamp, Elliott Weinstein and Dick Whitney. In that line up Ted Bremble continues on the Newsletter, Bill Carleton assumes the treasury, Em Houck remains Head Agent, the Secretary is unchanged, and the new Chairman is LineSpaulding.
The Spauldings are activists and when Line and Robin are at home in Worcester, Mass., he is busy running his own company, Sheppard Envelope, and she is directing a large and successful school volunteer program as a member of the administrative staff of the Worcester public school system and is nationally recognized as an expert on the subject. The family includes Brooks, Kimberly, and Whitney ranging from 9 to 7 to 4 on next birthdays. New Englanders by birth and by choice, they ski Vermont and sail the coast of Maine; however, Line's business and Robin's own activities have them traveling throughout the country fairly frequently. This may work to the advantage of the class in keeping communication channels open, and there is certainly no question about the enthusiasm each has for Dartmouth.
In a letter which will appear at greater length in the next Newsletter, Line expressed his hope that the next five years will see even more members of class participating in various activities, old and new. "In case anybody is laboring under the impression that there isn't too much to be done I would like to mention that the class needs organizational help in just about all areas. there is no question that our class is loaded with talent, but as a group we have collective talents which we haven't even begun to use. Individual class memberships are obsolete; we are now measured as a group. For most of us this means our family; for the class, it means the performance of the whole class ... all the individuals and all of the families. For our individual contributions are multiplied by the strength of our families and associates."
Laced with a sense of renewal, the reunion is a mellow composite of warm clear days, Hanover without students and at half speed, fine arrangements, relaxed people, and easy conversation. Ted Bremble is planning a special photographic newsletter to record the highlights.
If you were confused by the Len Clark quotation in last month's class notes it should have read: "I am confident that we can make our $30,000 Reunion goal if we all answer these questions candidly and then act decisively based on our real, individual abilities."
