Willie Bogan, the senior from Albion, Mich., who is the most honored Dartmouth student-athlete of the year, added the Barrett All-round Achievement Cup to his collection. The award, voted by the deans of the College, is presented to the senior who shows greatest promise for achievement beyond Dartmouth. Bogan was an All-Ivy League football player and is a Rhodes Scholar.
For the third straight year, Al Rheem from Denver, Colo., has been named to the NCAA Ail-American swimming team. Rheem, the Dartmouth captain, was named in the 100-yard butterfly, the event in which he is the Dartmouth record holder.
Co-Captain-elect Stu Simms, fullback on Dartmouth's football team, is one of 13 juniors who have been awarded Senior Fellowships for advanced independent study in 1971-72.
Bob Dukiet, a former basketball player at Boston College whose career was abbreviated in 1969 due to a knee injury, has been named assistant basketball coach and freshman tennis coach at Dartmouth. He succeeds Bob McAteer who has entered private business.
The three undergraduate representatives to the Athletic Council for 1971- 72 are football quarterback Bill Pollock from Nacogdoches, Texas; hockey and golf manager Dick Donohue from Wellesley Hills, Mass., and Dave Welcker from Worcester, Mass., student manager of Dartmouth's intramural athletic program.
Recipients of three special awards in spring sports are: Lloyd Ucko, winner of the Occom Bowl in tennis; midfielder Rich McFadzean, the Tom Dent la- crosse award; and Parke Rublee, recipient of the Harmon Trophy for im- provement in distance running.
Captain Bill Dinneen '71 was the East'stop hammer thrower this season, winning the New England and IC4A titles.
