The Executive Committee in meeting at Woodstock, voted to establish a Class of 1930 Endowed Lectureship capitalized at $30,000 through contributions from class members. Income will be used to enable distinguished lecturers to spend at least a week on campus, deliver a public lecture, and hold seminars and discussions with students. It might also be used to engage alumni who have distinguished themselves in a non-academic field to spend a week or two in Hanover. A representative of the Class will serve on the committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty to choose the grantees. We have agreed that there will be no interference with the Alumni Fund which should receive our primary giving allegiance.

The Chilcote saga is of special interest to all who have enjoyed their friendship over the years, and Lee has contributed the following: "Our son Ronald '57 is presently an associate professor at the University of California. Ron is also a Director of their Latin American Affairs department, so he wears two hats. Presently Ron, Frances and two boys are living in Brazil and Chile for a year where he is doing research work under grants from Stanford and the U. of C. Incidentally, in addition to his degree from Dartmouth, Ron accumulated five more degrees including a PhD from Stanford.

"Our older daughter Kathy who graduated from Smith in '59 and Western Reserve in '60 is married to James Pender, Yale '59. They have three children, two of whom are adopted. Fortunately, the Pender family resides here in Cleveland. Our younger son Lee Jr., who graduated from Dartmouth in '64 and Thayer in '65 is now in his third year of Law School at the University of California. After graduating from Thayer, Lee went to Quantico and spent a total of four years with the Marines, serving 13 months in Viet Nam as a platoon leader in the Marine Infantry. Lee married a Cleveland girl, Tuni Kendrick, who graduated from Skidmore. They have a baby boy and since Jee presently has a couple of good job opportunities in the Cleveland area, we are hopeful that they will return here next summer. Patti, our younger daughter graduated from Cushing Academy and presently is a sophomore at Rollins College".
