The death of Kenneth Edward Root occurred in a Chicago hospital the first part of September. Details are lacking and an obituary will appear in a later Magazine.

Dr. William F. Holzer is seriously ill in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N. H., where he has been under treatment since the first part of August.

Joseph A. Goodheart writes from his home in Chatham, N. Y., that at 87 he puts in a four-hour day in community service as school crossing guard and enjoys it more each year as it gives him a chance to enjoy the children. This is his seventh year on the job.

Reginald H. and Molly Colley were in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 8-13 for a business meeting of the Wood Preservative Committee of the American Wood Preservative Association. Reggie has been attending these meetings for more than 60 years.

Dean Francis H. Bird spent six weeks this past summer with his daughter Harriet (Mrs. Orval R. Grigsby, 82 Scenic Drive, Orinda, Calif. 94563) and her family. He says the California sunshine did him a world of good.

Chester S. Brett is able to move about with the aid of a walker. This allows him to enjoy his patio which overlooks Wychmere Harbor, Harwich Port, Mass.

Stanley and Ella Leighton celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on October 25. Their son Bradford has built a house across the street from their summer home on Seaconset Island, Mashpee, Mass.

James Norwood and Bertha Tuttle have retired to his boyhood town and are now living at 20 Sea Street, Harwich Port, Mass. 02646 which has been their summer home.

Grace Weinz, Gordon's wife, made a return trip to the hospital this summer to have the pin which had been placed in her fractured hip removed. Eleanor Newton talks with them on the phone and says Grace is doing well.
