The 54th Alumni Fund is now at the halfway mark and '09s members, men, women, and children, have been informed of the vital role the fund plays in keeping Dartmouth strong. Have you made a realistic gift to compensate for the increased pressure that the private educational institutions are under?

Word has been received from the Alumni Office of the death of Mrs. Laura Serr Prescott, widow of Harold M. on February 25, 1968. Laura was at our reunion last June and has been a staunch supporter of class activities. Of late years, she has made her home with her younger son Baxter C. '39 at 6 Comstock Place, Charlestown, W. Va. 25314. Her older son Dana Serr '37 is in the United States Foreign Service. The sympathy of the Class is extended to both in the loss of their mother.

Kenneth E. Root, "Nut," is now back at his home 215 East Chestnut St., Chicago, Ill. 60611 after a six-week stay in the hospital as the result of a fall. Mike Farley has talked to him from Newton, Mass., since his return.

Henry B. Whitcomb next month will have been hospitalized for two years from a shock. Heinie appreciates hearing from classmates and on your secretary's last visit mentioned that Husky Rich, Nut Root, and Wilbur Bull had remembered him. He cannot answer himself as he has only very slight movement in his left arm. His address is Royal Megansett Nursing Home, County Road. No. Falmouth, Mass. 02556. On page 6 of the March MAGAZINE was a resume of Reginald H. Cooley's latest publication "Trends in the Production of Treated Woods in the United States, 1915-1965." Did you read it?

On April 5, the Dartmouth Glee Club presented a concert in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School under the auspices of the Dartmouth Club of Cape Cod. Harold S. Clark entertained two members, Gary Perry '69 and Thomas Stickney '69, overnight at his home in Sagamore Beach and furnished transportation to David Tee '69 and Martin Davis '69 between South Yarmouth and Sagamore Beach.

Birthday greetings are in order this month for Kenneth R. Root (3); C. Elbert Dole (4): Lynde W. Tucker (17); John H. Dowdall (22); Reginald H. Colley (27); Robinson W. Mower (28).

The 59th reunion of 1909 comes next month. Will you be there? It is later than you think.
