No cards, but two photos arrived recently. One, from Ben Cowden was of DonAllen receiving his honorary degree of Doctor of Science at New York Chiropractic College. Ben wrote, "Don will have difficulty catching up to Frank Westheime r in the area of honorary degrees, but this is a start." The other was of Mike Cardozo working on the mainsail grinder of a 12-meter America's Cup racing yacht in the Caribbean. Art Allen, eat your heart out!

We've just learned that Whip and Addie Walser's three-month trip to the Azores and Madeira Isles and Europe was cancelled. Addie fell and broke a hip a week before departure. We wish her a speedy recovery.

President Dick and Mary Olmsted have completed their roaming 'round the girdled Earth on the Statendam and are probably contemplating new worlds to conquer. Since they went to the land of Scott and Amundsen last year it would seem logical to follow the paths of Robert Peary and Frederick Cook. Luxury tours to the North Pole from Murmansk by ship and helicopter are now available by Intrav of St. Louis. But they better hurry. RuthKramer, our most recent visitor to penguin land, may beat them to become the first '32 member to have her picture taken at the North Pole.

We appreciated the comments of Mike Cardozo and Bob Ackerberg in the May newsletter. They noted our choice to include in the April column only two of our mem- bers who have made the world a better place. We thank them for reminding us of 26 other distinguished classmates whose achievements in a variety of fields have done honor to Dart- mouth and our class. Certainly our ten who made the supreme sacrifice in WWII should be included. But we still feel that the global work of Ed Marks and Howie Sargent, whose endeavors assisted hundreds of thousands on three continents, should rank very high on the list.

On the other hand, maybe we should have added to our April column what Jack Kent '50 did in his: "As Pogo might say—we have met Dartmouth's gifts to the world, and they is us."

We sadly note the deaths of Margo Cleaves(Dick's wife) and classmates Calvin G. Ireys.Holden C. Lewis, Fred E. Leonardson and Morrison G. Tucker. Obituaries will be forthcoming.
